The ultimate MAN v FAT guide to Christmas 2018

Christmas can be a tricky bugger to navigate if you’re trying to lose weight. We’re not really talking about Christmas Day itself here, because surely if there’s one day you can sod the diet it’s Christmas Day (and Boxing Day, buried under Quality Street wrappers), but it’s everything else that can make this time of year difficult if you’re trying to shift the pounds.

It all begins in mid-November and from then on it’s a constant tumble towards the Queen’s speech, with work dos, Christmas sandwiches in your fave coffee shops and the lure of festive food and drink at every Christmassy event you have to take the kids to.

We’re firm believers that life’s too short to deprive yourself. If a Lebkuchen star is what your heart desires at this time of year, then, by all means, go for it. However, the flipside of this is that we’re also believers in making informed decisions about what you’re eating, so we’ve put together guides to all sorts of festive food and drink so you can plan ahead, track what you have and avoid piling on the pounds.

We’ll be adding to this as we get deeper and deeper into Christmas territory, so be sure to bookmark and check back.
