MAN v FAT Nuneaton

1) Tell us a bit about your experience so far as a player at MAN v FAT

Joining MAN v FAT was the extra support I needed to take my weight loss seriously. I started at 165kg and I’d tried every diet under the sun — nothing stuck. But there’s something about knowing you’re not doing it alone that makes the difference. Week in, week out, you’re part of something bigger. For me it’s the accountability, the weigh-ins together and sharing in highs and lows. I’ve lost over 60kg and genuinely changed my life. I look forward to Wednesdays now, and that says it all really.

2) What do you enjoy most about being a part of MAN v FAT and your club in particular?

It’s the lads. The way everyone backs each other, whether you’ve smashed a loss or had a bad week you still feel part of the team. There’s no judgement, just encouragement. Our Nuneaton club has got a real buzz about it everyone’s in it for the same reason to be better, I also love how it’s not just about the hour on the pitch. We’ve built something that stretches wider than with social groups and more.

3) What are you hoping to achieve by being a part of the player committee?

I want to help push this thing forward. MAN v FAT has made such a massive impact on me, and I think we’ve only scratched the surface of what it can be. I’m big on visibility and making sure everyone out there who’s struggling knows this exists. I want to represent the voices of the lads in the league whether that’s ideas for events, helping new players settle in, or just making sure the awareness of MAN v FAT is as good as it can be.
