If you’re thinking of joining one of the new leagues (go on, you know you want to) but you’re wondering what you’re getting yourself into, we spoke to Salford coach Sven to find out what newbies can expect at the new leagues:
“MAN v FAT Football is about 5 things: footy, food, friends, fun and losing weight. You will be held accountable for your personal weight loss in order to benefit your team. You can expect helpful advice and direction, to have a laugh and to feel better about yourself.”
What advice would Sven offer to new players?
“Take every opportunity, get to know your teammates, play the extra kickarounds. Ask for help – no question is too silly. Get your head around the scoring system and brace yourself for a LOT of WhatsApp messages, particularly in the first few weeks as everyone gets to know each other!”
So there we have it – we’re branching out and bringing the MAN v FAT Football juggernaut to (hopefully) a town near you. See you on the pitch!
