  • There must’ve been something in the water in the Solihull area this week, as the four MAN v FAT Football leagues in the area lost a whopping combined total of over 300kg! The four leagues in question: Fox Hollies, Arden, Lode Heath and North Solihull, who lost 108kg, 92kg, 81kg and 30kg respectively, were all in their first week of competition and whether you were a new face or an established MAN v FAT Football player, this is a great achievement that hasn’t gone unnoticed. Keep up the good work and you’ll soon reap the rewards.
  • It seems the MAN V FAT lads are getting a taste for 11 v 11 matches. This time the matches will be between the Portway (Oldbury) and Smethwick leagues, who are teaming up to become the appropriately named Portway and Smethwick 5% Hitters – a testament to the great weight loss achievements from several of the players in the leagues. Set to take place on the 19th of November, it isn’t just bragging rights at stake for these two teams, but rather a great opportunity to raise as much money for the Children With Cancer UK charity – a cause you can donate to through MVFF coach Neil Glover’s JustGiving page

Create a luxury dinner at home by adding some glitz to Sainsbury’s new Taste the Difference restaurant quality steaks with Taste the Difference Edible Gold Leaf

  • If conventional meal times have become too boring for you or you’re looking to impress your friends at dinner parties, then this brand new “steakhouse inspired” range from Sainsbury’s is definitely what you need.

In a bold attempt to make the perfect steak even better, Sainsbury’s has taken the audacious approach of covering their juicy cuts in a 23ct gold edible leaf – a trend which has taken the ‘foodie’ world by storm, apparently. The idea, which originated in America’s Silicon Valley (along with pretty much everything else nowadays), allows the ‘average Joe’ to feel, share and experience the eating habits of some of the world’s biggest hotshots. And if the whole concept hasn’t already blown your mind enough, their £3 price tag certainly will; at such an affordable price tag, I think we all could easily get used to eating this fancy more often (and picking gold out of our teeth). Sainsbury’s all new restaurant steak cuts can be found in store nationwide as of the 27th of September.

  • A fellow MAN V FAT member has set down a challenge for other MVF lads to take up; going out for a run every day in October. If you feel like you’re up to the task, join the discussion here and make sure to keep us all updated on how it’s going.

  • Dieting and healthy eating can be extremely time-consuming and we know it’s tempting to favour the unhealthy fast food option instead of a nutritional meal jam-packed with exotic greens; have a look at the best, so check out healthy meals for those always on the go as suggested by the forum members.
