Richard Crick

Director of MAN v FAT

Key Responsibilities/What I Do

I lead the team at MAN v FAT HQ, overseeing Football, Rugby,  Soccer and whatever will come next! My aims are to lead the team and maintain the culture of MAN v FAT programmes – so that we can achieve our goal of supporting any man who wants to take on his battle with fat, and win! The day to day is so incredibly varied but rewarding. I try my best to take a strategic approach, whilst still getting stuck in on day to day tasks and visiting clubs – to ensure I can see the community at work, first hand.

Why I love working for MAN v FAT

I love the culture of the organisation, I love that we’re innovators and that we are so much more than a weight loss programme. I get to work with some incredible people at HQ, in the Coaching team and with our players. To wake up every morning working in sports that you love, and doing good is a real blessing.

Proudest moment at MAN v FAT

I honestly have too many! Having been part of the founding team that made MAN v FAT Football, and subsequent iterations of the initiative since is a really special feeling. Other moments include taking MAN v FAT Soccer to the US and devising the Amazing Losers game concept. However nothing beats any time a member or coach says to me ‘this has changed my life’ or ‘I’m not sure I’d be here without this community’.

Who I support

I’m a proud long suffering Colchester United season ticket holder. It’s always a rollercoaster of emotions support Col U but one that I embrace. I also follow Arsenal and manage to get along to The Emirates 3 or 4 times a season to get behind the gooners! Pver the last few years I’ve become a big NFL fan, with my team being The Chargers.
