Tell us a bit about your experience as part of the coaching team with MAN v FAT
My experience as a coach with MAN v FAT has been amazing. I started my coaches training as the assistant for Liverpool, during which time the main coach left, and I had the confidence and the know how to step up and take the rains as the coach during its transition period.
Now as a fully-fledged Coach, I run Aintree which is something I am extremely proud of. With help from Stu and Elle, also guidance from John Bilsborrow, I have created an amazing club and supported many of the lads both on and off the pitch. It may not be a 24/7 role but in my experience offering that support is key when the lads need it.
What do you enjoy the most about supporting the lads in your club?
No session is the same. The lads work both with each other and with me to make sure everyone gets what they need from the sessions. The most enjoyable part about all this is making sure that each and every lad that comes through our doors is the best version of themselves they can be.
What are you hoping you can achieve by being a part of the coach committee?
The one thing I am hoping to get from this committee is the network of MAN V FAT to realise that we are one team. The support that we can give each other is paramount not just to the coaches, but also to improve best practice for the lads as well.
