Why did you join MAN v FAT in the first place?

I joined MAN v FAT because I love football and I was fed up of being overweight and getting comments on my appearance. I saw an add pop up and thought let’s do it. I’ve loved football my whole life – I played till I was 18 then let myself go, and I thought what better way to get back in shape than do what I love and get fitter doing so.

What have been the best and hardest bits of your efforts to get to BMI Boss status?

The best parts for me have definitely been being able to look in the mirror again with pride and doing it whilst playing with so many great team mates and a great club along the way.

The hardest parts were taking the first leap at the start and when you hit a plateau and trying to gain the mental strength to get past it.

What are the biggest benefits you’re now feeling from being at a healthy weight?

The biggest benefits are general day to day life – not being out of breath and doing normal things with more ease.

How important has the MAN v FAT community been in getting you to this stage – and keeping you there?

The MAN v FAT community has been massive in helping me. I’m super competitive, so getting those extra goals every week is a real motivator.

Being my team’s captain as well means I have tried to be an inspiration to the rest of my team and my whole club and hopefully the whole MAN v FAT community.

You may think its never gonna happen or you can’t do it. I DID. But everyone can and we can together by championing each other and bringing everyone up with you.
