Why did you join MAN v FAT in the first place?
I joined simply for the motivation and accountability to lose weight. I had a few close friends that were members and was told how much fun the games were and how great the support was from the programme, the coach and the other members.
What have been the best and hardest bits of your efforts to get to BMI Boss status?
The best bits have to be the results. To see the number on the scales go down over the weeks is a great feeling. I would say the hardest part is putting the effort in in the week to get out and do the exercise.
That and weighing and counting the foods your eating but, as I mentioned before, it makes it much easier when the results back up a good week.
What are the biggest benefits you’re now feeling from being at a healthy weight?
I think the one of my biggest benefits is the confidence it’s given me to look at my body in mirror and like what I see, I’ve never had that.
Coupled with the health benefits of not getting so out of breath from small amounts of exercise. Being able to run around the park with my kids feels great.
How important has the MAN v FAT community been in getting you to this stage – and keeping you there?
I give quite a lot of credit to the Leicester MAN v FAT community – mainly not wanting to stand on the scales in front of them all and get told I’ve put weight on that week. They’ve all been really supportive, both at the weigh ins and over the WhatsApp group.
