Why did you join MAN v FAT in the first place?

I joined because I knew I needed to make a lasting change to my weight and health, but I wanted to do it in a way that felt enjoyable and manageable. MAN v FAT gave me the chance to combine losing weight with football, support and a bit of friendly competition. It felt like a positive place to start, rather than trying to do it all on my own.

What have been the best and hardest bits of your efforts to get to BMI Boss status?

The best part has been seeing how far I’ve come. Going from 138kg to 74kg is something I’m incredibly proud of, and reaching BMI Boss status has made all the effort feel worthwhile.

The hardest part has been staying consistent over time. There are days when motivation is lower, and lasting change means continuing to make good choices even when progress feels slower. I’ve had to keep reminding myself why I started and focus on the long-term goal.

What are the biggest benefits you’re now feeling from being at a healthy weight?

I feel better in myself and more confident. Everyday life feels easier, and I have a different outlook on what I’m capable of. The biggest benefit is knowing that I’ve made a major change for my health and that I can keep building on it.

How important has the MAN v FAT community been in getting you to this stage – and keeping you there?

The community has been a huge part of it. Having people around me who understand the journey, encourage me and keep me accountable has made a real difference. MAN v FAT has helped make the process enjoyable, and the support and camaraderie have helped me keep going and stay focused.
