Why did you join MAN v FAT in the first place?
I joined MAN v FAT after a personal tragedy in my family, and I’d recently had my daughter a year or so before that. It was a massive wake-up call which made me realise I wanted to get fit and healthy to be around as long as possible for her and my family.
What have been the best and hardest bits of your efforts to get to BMI Boss status?
The best bits about joining MAN v FAT have been meeting new friends and getting back into team sports..
The hardest part has been trying to juggle being a chef and being around food all day everyday and finding the willpower to not pick at food like I used to.
What are the biggest benefits you’re now feeling from being at a healthy weight?
The benefits are definitely just being more fit and active after losing the weight and having more energy to get back in the gym which I’m really enjoying. So much so that I’m thinking of becoming a personal trainer myself so I can help other people like me gain the confidence to train and improve their lives as I have.
How important has the MAN v FAT community been in getting you to this stage – and keeping you there?
The MAN v FAT community has been very important to me, especially my club and team mates as I’ve been lucky to have a few great role models at Bridgend hit their BMI which gave me the incentive to do it myself
