Rogelio Arenas, West Houston

What physical and mental changes are you noticing since you got started on the program?

Physically, I’m a ton more capable! My hip mobility has improved and I’ve lost some weight which is nice, but the best part is actually feeling better when doing things. I can physically tie my shoes now without holding my breath(!) and my clothes got better as well, to the point I might have to buy a new belt soon!

What has been the best moment for you so far at one of your MAN v FAT Soccer sessions?

One of my favorite moments was receiving our Whatevlly uniforms and taking our team picture! Although it’s a funny team name it’s cool to see the guys take so much pride in it

What has become your go to meal to help your weight loss? And what remains your favourite meal to reward yourself for a good week’s efforts?

I’ve found great rendition of my favorite Mexican dishes but low calorie, like my favorite is chicken fajitas with low cal tortillas and home made salsa.

Rodz Amazan, Elkins Park

What physical and mental changes are you noticing since you got started on the program?

There has been such a mental switch for me lately. The things that I thought my body were no longer capable of, I have been able to do. I’ve been feeling less sluggish and feeling less like I’m dragging myself around.

What has been the best moment for you so far at one of your MAN v FAT Soccer sessions?

My ability to consistently score goals. It has awoken the child in me that’s always wanted to be a football player. I’m not exactly scoring at Stamford Bridge or the Bernabeu but I’ll take it.

I dont have a go to meal per say, but I have been trying to eat very clean. No snacking, doing away with sugar, and fasting a bit. However, my reward to myself every week is my mom’s Sunday dinners.

I definitely see changes in my appearance and my clothes fitting me better and not as tight as they used to be. Because I am eating better and more regulated now, I dont get the feeling of disappointment and disgust after weighing myself, I totally feel like a different person.

My go to meals from 6.00am to 6.00pm are Oikos protein shakes, a fruit cup and a cheese stick. I take them a couple hours separately. As for my reward, it’s always the Honey Walnut shrimp from Panda Express, that stuff is just irresistible!

The most significant physical change that I noticed is that now I can run a full game with out losing my breath like the beginning. Mentally I don’t feel tired all the time and with the support of the coach and teammates, I manage to control the cravings of junk food.
