Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to getting in shape and that approach has certainly borne dividends for Ryan James, the coach at our MAN v FAT Mansfield club.
Ryan has helped the lads to plenty of weight loss success stories and he told us: “I always encourage the guys to look at making gradual sustainable changes to what they are currently doing, rather than opting for a quick fix diet that they may have done previously and got short-term success from.”



Mansfield has been a club with a strong community feel and Ryan, who also coaches in Nottingham, has been delighted with the lads approach not only to MAN v FAT but their support of each other.
He added: “The guys are so supportive of one another, the games are played in great spirit and the guys look forward to the sessions, as do I.
“Often in the weigh in room we will have a group chat about a topic with multiple lads getting involved in the discussion and sharing their thoughts and experiences.
“Their community is a really welcoming one. It doesn’t matter what your footballing ability is, everyone is made to feel welcome by their team and also the club as a whole.”
