MAN v FAT York

1) Tell us a bit about your experience so far as a player at MAN v FAT

Since joining MAN v FAT in August 2022, I’ve lost over 70 kilos; nearly 50% of my starting weight. The weekly accountability of a weigh-in and incentive to track my calories to help my team have been instrumental in losing a life-changing amount of weight.

2) What do you enjoy most about being a part of MAN v FAT and your club in particular?

I really like that MAN v FAT lets us contribute to our team’s goal tally with our weight loss.  Even if you’re not the most gifted footballer, you can make yourself an asset to your team on the scales.  This season at MAN v FAT York, I’ve been exceptionally lucky to land on a team of great people who really support each other, on and off the pitch.  These relationships make weight loss feel like a group effort rather than a solo battle.

3) What are you hoping to achieve by being a part of the player committee?

The player committee works in two directions.  It’s a valuable way for us to give feedback to the organisation about how we think MAN v FAT can go even further to improve the health, wellbeing, and enjoyment of its members.

However, it also lets representatives of clubs around the country compare notes and talk about initiatives that have worked well in each of our MAN v FAT groups.  There are some great ideas out there that deserve to spread across the nation.
