Members of MAN v FAT clubs in the east of England will come together in May to help raise funds for The Lullaby Trust.

Representatives from Ipswich, Colchester, Norwich and Boston will take part in a round robin five-a-side tournament put together by MAN v FAT Ipswich member and MAN v FAT Player Committee member Michael Eglintine.

Michael told us: “My niece passed away at 4 months old due to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). We will be raising money for The Lullaby Trust, a charity who do great work in educating people to prevent this from happening, but also in supporting bereaved families. Preparations are going well!”

The guys have already raised nearly £400 ahead of the event and have a £2,000 total in mind following the tournament on May 11th.

Jodie Henry-Francis from The Lullaby Trust was grateful for MAN v FAT’s support, saying: “The MAN v FAT charity day that Michael has organised is an incredible show of support in memory of his niece, Kaci. The team’s efforts are saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families when they need it most. Their kindness is driving us forward towards a future where no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

“At The Lullaby Trust, we exist to keep babies safe and grieving families supported. We empower parents, carers and professionals with trusted advice on safer sleep and baby safety, fund ground-breaking research to save lives, and offer specialist bereavement support to families in need.

“Since 1991, we have helped save the lives of over 30,000 babies, reduced sudden infant death by 80%, and invested £12 million into life-changing research — but we won’t stop until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly. Thanks to the kindness from people like Michael, we just took one step closer.”

Everyone at MAN v FAT wishes Michael and the other players participating all the best for a great day!
