Key Responsibilities/What I Do
I support over 60 MAN v FAT clubs across a huge patch – from Worcester all the way up to Carlisle, with all of Wales included too! My role is all about making sure our clubs run smoothly week in, week out. That means everything from managing the day-to-day admin that keeps the seasons ticking along, to supporting new coaches as they join, helping with club development, and pretty much everything in between. There are a lot of moving parts, but I’m proud to be part of the team that keeps it all on track.
Why I love working for MAN v FAT
With such a big region, I’ve had the chance to meet all sorts of people – and I mean all sorts. It’s one of my favourite parts of the job. From guys aiming to lose a few KG to those on much bigger journeys, everyone’s got their own story and reasons for being here.
Some have demanding jobs, some are juggling parenting, others are managing busy lifestyles with little time for themselves – but they all come together with a shared goal of getting healthier and supporting each other along the way. It’s honestly a privilege to see that kind of community in action.
Proudest moment at MAN v FAT
It’s been really rewarding working closely with the coaches in my region and watching them grow. One of the standout moments for me has been supporting coaches from their very first interview – when they knew practically nothing about the programme – to seeing them go on to become senior coaches and even MAN v FAT Awards nominees. That kind of growth is amazing to witness and be a part of.
Who I support
Even though I’m part of the MAN v FAT HQ team, I still know embarrassingly little about football (I only just found out what “turn and face” means – and I’m still not 100% convinced I’ve got it right). According to Mr Cody (who’s made it his personal mission to educate me), I support Manchester United. My gym overlooks Old Trafford and I live really close by too… I’m not sure what’s more baffling: how close I am to the stadium, or how little I actually know about what goes on inside it!
